Message from the Head

Welcome to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. We at the University of Illinois Hospital are committed to the care of urban diverse women. Our philosophy is easy access to excellence in care, excellence in teaching and excellence in research. We see our largely high risk patient population not only at UIC, but also at many other sites in different communities: Pilsen, Englewood, Michigan Avenue and South Shore, for example. We focus our training on state of the art and evidenced based active learning. We have active basic research programs in reproductive science including implantation biology and placenta growth. In addition, we have active clinical research in contraception, maternal morbidity, use of fertility services and preterm delivery. Finally, our large faculty of physicians, PhDs and midwives truly enjoy what they do and are excellent teachers.
